One tool. Two compliance frameworks.

Whether you're on a construction site or working as a contractor on a mine, FileForge builds the right file for the right law — choose your framework and it assembles the correct appointments, sections and legislation.

⚙️
Occupational Health & Safety

  • PPE, inspections, toolbox talks & incident reporting
New
Mine Health & Safety (contractor)
Mine Health & Safety Act 29 of 1996
For contractors working on a mine, co-operating under the mine's health & safety system.

  • Section 11 baseline & issue-based risk assessments, COP compliance
  • Activity sections (TMM, machinery, explosives, strata control)
A different way to get a safety file

Stop ordering safety files.
Start generating them.

Most providers take your brief, disappear for days, and email back a PDF you pay thousands for — then charge you again every time something changes. FileForge hands you the tool instead.

The old way

Safety consultants & "order-a-file" services

  • Days or weeks of turnaround
  • Thousands of rand per file
  • Sign every appointment, register and form by hand
  • Pay again for every revision
  • Tied to their schedule and availability
The FileForge way

A self-service platform you control

  • A complete file in minutes
  • A flat credit price per file
  • Sign once — embedded into every document for you
  • Edit and regenerate anytime
  • Available 24/7, whenever you need it

Same compliance backbone — the relevant law (OHS Act 85 of 1993, or the Mine Health & Safety Act 29 of 1996 for contractors on a mine) is built into every file. You just don't wait days for it.

Beyond the file

Compliance doesn't stop at the file

A safety file is a moment in time. FileForge keeps working after it's generated — watching the dates that matter, and putting the daily check in your crew's hands on site.

🔔
Certificate & Document Monitoring
Stay ahead of every expiry
FileForge keeps a live register of your workers' competencies and your company documents — medicals, licences, Letters of Good Standing, insurance — and emails you before they lapse, so an out-of-date certificate doesn't stop a job or surface in an audit.
Worker competencies and company documents tracked in one place
Automatic email reminders at 60, 30 and 7 days before expiry
South African presets — plus your own custom certificate and document types
⛑️
FileForge Field — on site
Take safety from the file to the field
Your foreman opens one link — no login, no app store — to run the daily site check: who's on site, the day's conditions, a toolbox talk and a point-of-work hazard walk. It supports the competent person on site; it doesn't replace them. Every check is saved as a dated record.
One private link for the foreman — nothing to install
Attendance, weather-aware safety prompts and toolbox talks together
Each daily check stored as a printable record for your file
Included with an active FileForge account

Ask The Foreman

Don't take our word for it.

Ask him a real South African health & safety question — the kind you'd ask a seasoned foreman on site. He's the same assistant built into FileForge.

The Foreman
On site · OHS & MHSA
Afternoon. What's the job, and who's the client? That usually tells me most of what your file needs. Or ask me straight out — I'll point you right.

FAQ

Common questions

How does pricing work?
You pay per file. Buy credits upfront — from R750 for a single file down to R580 per file with volume — with no subscription and no registration fee. Credits stay valid for 24 months.
Is there a subscription or contract?
No. There is nothing to cancel — FileForge has no subscription. You buy credits only when you need them, they stay valid for 24 months, and your account remains active whether or not you have credits.
Are the generated files legally valid?
FileForge generates content referencing the OHS Act 85 of 1993 (or the Mine Health & Safety Act 29 of 1996 for mining contractors) and all applicable South African regulations. We recommend having a qualified SHE professional review the final output before submission.
Does FileForge support mining (MHSA) files?
Yes. Alongside the OHS Act, FileForge builds contractor safety files under the Mine Health & Safety Act 29 of 1996 — contractor appointments and organogram, Section 11 risk assessments, Code of Practice compliance, the Section 5(4) co-operation agreement, and activity-based sections (TMM, machinery, explosives, strata control). Just choose the Mine Health & Safety framework when you start a file.
Can I use my company logo?
Yes — all plans support company logo upload. Your logo appears in the header of every exported PDF. No additional cost.
What features are included in each plan?
All plans include full access to the Safety File Studio with every section, PDF export, and company logo branding. The specific feature limits per plan will be communicated at registration and will be refined over time.
Is my data secure and POPIA compliant?
Yes. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. FileForge is POPIA compliant — your company and project data is never shared with or sold to any third party.
About Us

Built by South Africans,
for South Africa

FileForge was born out of frustration. We are a South African risk and compliance team, and we kept watching the same problem play out: safety files took days and cost thousands — built by hand from templates, with legislation cross-referenced and risk assessments retyped for every new project.

We knew there had to be a better way. South African OHS compliance is complex, nuanced and high-stakes. A generic international tool wouldn't cut it. We needed something built specifically for our legislation, our industries and our context.

So we built it. FileForge combines AI with disciplined compliance methodology and the actual text of South African OHS law to produce genuinely useful safety files — structured drafts you review, adapt and sign off, not just ticked boxes.

The team behind it

Built by an experienced risk & compliance team

FileForge is built by a South African risk and compliance team with more than 18 years' experience helping organisations meet their legal, governance and risk-management obligations. • More than 18 years' experience in risk, compliance and governance.
  • Grounded in formal risk-management methodology (ISO 31000).
  • OHS Act 85 of 1993 built into every file.
